sexist bias at Labour Home?

I note that both the Streathem (London) and Hull East selections made it onto the Home page, but that Nottingham South remained on Blogs.

I further note that the first two selected men, the later a women.

Clinton & Triangulation

Triangulation was a term much thrown about when describing how Bill Clinton acted for part of his time as President. The term has now re-surfaced in the Democratic race to become the candidate for the US Presidential election. The following short article by is taken from the Democratic Strategist. Their site is well worth having a look at whether you agree with this particular article or not - http://www.thedemocraticstrategist.org/

Equality, but not yet!

I find it surprising that organisations that you might think of having a progressive bent still have difficulty in coming to terms with the idea of equality. Labour History Group spins a tale

Labour History, the journal of the Labour History Group, popped through my letterbox this morning, the cover proclaiming content on `Spain's civil war: Labour and intervention, seventy years on'. Unfortunately, the introduction by Greg Rosen, the Chair of the group, gets his history drastically wrong about one of the great figures of our history.

Is Brother Simpson losing his grip on Amicus?

The election for Regional Secretary of the Yorkshire & Humberside region of Amicus has produced a shock result that suggests General Secretary Derek Simpson may be losing his grip over the union.

Trots gather round

A report on the 13th January launch conference of Socialist Youth Network, the Labour Representation Committee's (LRC) youth organisation, is in this weeks issue of Weekly Worker - the paper of the Communist Party of Great Britain (CPGB). It makes for interesting reading, though not perhaps for the Labour Party members of the LRC.

Retro Coop Party - not in a nice way

The Co-operative Party is 90 this year - but on the evidence of its literature doesn't deserve to reach 91.

The (not-so) national society

The Fabian Society is a UK think tank - it says so on its website. But, whilst happy to have members from the provinces it remains as it started, a London centred organisation.
